Aspiration

VolagHy wants to contribute to the large-scale adoption of sustainable aviation fuels (eSAF) across Europe. Backed and initiated by InnoEnergy, one of Europe’s cleantech leaders, VolagHy leverages a pan-European ecosystem of industry, finance, policy, and academia to scale synthetic aviation fuel production.

With its first flagship plant underway, VolagHy aims to replicate this model and build five eSAF facilities across the Nordics by 2040, setting a blueprint for scaling sustainable aviation fuels across Europe.

Projects

Volaghy’s ambition is to build 5 eSAF plants by 2040 in the Nordics.

Our flagship project in Kuopio, Finland, will produce 50,000 tons of eSAF annually, powered by green electricity. There are plans to potentially supply the biogenic CO₂ from Mondi’s local pulp and paper mill. Combining proven industrial expertise with innovative partnerships, VolagHy delivers scalable, verifiable, and cost-effective sustainable fuels while creating tangible environmental and community benefits.
